The Waukee Community School District Board of Directors has authorized the use of recording devices in legally authorized locations in District buildings on school District buses. The recording devices will be used to help monitor and to maintain order in school buildings and on school buses to promote and maintain a safe environment for students and employees. Students and parents are hereby notified that the recording may be used in a student or employee disciplinary proceedings. The content of the recordings may be a confidential education record and handled in accordance with applicable law and Board policies regarding access to and disclosure of education records. Recording will be retained, if necessary, for use in a student or employee disciplinary proceeding or other matters as determined necessary by the administration. Parents may request to view recording which are an education record of their child to the extent permitted by law.
