Term: 2023-2027
My family has lived in the Waukee Community School District since 1998, and my twins graduated from Waukee High School in 2020. Darby, my daughter, is now in college at the University of Iowa, and Tate, my son, attends Drake University. Waukee CSD provided my kids with excellent educational experiences, and my purpose in serving on the Board is to help ensure all students in the District receive the best education possible in a climate where public school funding and the rapid growth in our District present huge challenges. I have been a practicing attorney since 1994 and have served on the boards of several organizations over the years, including the Waukee Rotary Club, Waukee Chamber of Commerce, and Waukee Community Schools Foundation.

Term: 2021-2025
My wife, Amy, and I have two sons in the Waukee Community School District. I have lived in central Iowa most of my life, with the last 17 years within the Waukee CSD boundaries. I have worked in the finance industry for nearly two decades and served as the finance chair of my church for seven years. As a Board member, I will use my background to be forward-focused and keep our District on solid financial footing. I also want to guide the District to make long-term decisions that will allow us to continue providing an excellent educational experience for all of our students present and future and help each child reach their full potential.

Term: 2023-2027
My family and I joined the Waukee community in 2008, and I am honored to contribute by serving on the School Board. I have been an educator since 1999, teaching at both the elementary and secondary levels as a vocal music teacher and gifted education teacher. Currently, my role involves providing professional learning and school improvement support to multiple school districts in central Iowa. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Music Education and a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Gifted Education. My experiences as a special education liaison, parent, and teacher inform my perspective on providing a top-notch education to all Waukee CSD students.

Term: 2021-2025
My husband, Larry, and our three sons have made the Waukee community our home for the past 22 years. I have a BA from the University of Northern Iowa, an MA from Viterbo University, and a Certificate in Reading Recovery Teacher Leader Training. Most of my professional career has been dedicated to education. I believe in working together to meet the diverse social, emotional, and programming needs of our students. As a Board, we must advocate to ensure that cuts in state funding do not negatively impact those needs, while remaining fiscally responsible to taxpayers. It is vital that we continue to retain, recruit, and prepare great educators, make school a safe place for students, and collaborate with the community to embrace change in our rapidly growing district.

Term: 2021-2025
My husband, Adam, and I have two daughters in the Waukee Community School District. Gretta is a student at Timberline, and Ingrid attends South Middle School. We have lived in Waukee for 16 years and have been witness to its incredible growth and success. I look forward to ensuring the District continues to meet the needs and expectations of the community. I have an undergraduate degree in economics as well as a law degree, where I focused on the areas of business, health law, and mediation. While staying home with our girls, I have been able to serve on a variety of nonprofit boards, and I also work as a designer for Snyder and Co. I look forward to working with all of the District’s stakeholders to provide an exceptional experience for all of our students.

Term: 2021-2025
I pride myself on being an innovator and strategic leader with cross-industry experience in retail, wellness, and financial services. My career path has led me to be the head of Data & Analytics at Principal Asset Management. My BSBA in International Business from Drake University and MBA from DePaul University in Chicago helped me get where I am today. I was born and raised in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, where most of my immediate family still resides. My wife, Nicole, and I are raising two children: John Henry and Theo. I am part of the 2021 class of the Greater Des Moines Leadership Institute and enjoy serving the community in various capacities. It was important to me to serve on the School Board to ensure every student finds their way in an increasingly global and diverse world.

Term: 2023-2027
My wife, Maren, and I have lived in West Des Moines for over 20 years and within the Waukee School District for the past 14 years. We have two children who started their education at Brookview and are now students at Waukee High School and Timberline. I have degrees in Accounting and Finance from Wartburg College. Currently, I serve as a CPA and audit partner at UHY LLP in West Des Moines. I joined the Board because I am a huge supporter of public schools and want to help Waukee Community School District succeed. I think school funding and managing growth are the most significant issues facing the District, and I expect the Board to provide significant oversight in these areas.
