Waukee Elementary 2nd Graders Collect Books for Blank

Waukee Elementary second graders joined efforts in creating a plan and setting a goal for each class to donate a total of 20 brand new books to benefit patients at Blank Children’s Hospital. They were hoping to reach at least 100 books during the intuitive that ran  October 17 – October 26.

They were so happy and excited to announce that as a grade level, they donated a total of 822 new books for the kids at Blank! On Friday, October 28, a group of students visited Blank Children’s Hospital to help deliver the books. While they were there, the kids received high praise and thanks from a few doctors as well as two child life specialists. The students enjoyed seeing the impact their donation made.
