District to Hold Boundary Public Forum October 9

Families, staff and community members in the Waukee Community School District are invited to attend the second Comprehensive Boundary Process Public Forum on Tuesday, October 9, at 6:00 p.m. at the Waukee Innovation and Learning Center located at 285 SE Ashworth Road, Waukee Iowa.

This is the next step in the Comprehensive Boundary Process that will redefine attendance boundaries for elementary and secondary schools. The Boundary Committee has been charged with making a recommendation for elementary attendance center boundaries effective August 2019 and attendance center boundaries for students in grades 6-12 effective no later than August 2021.

Stations with large maps will be set up so that patrons can view the maps and write down their comments. Each station will have an administrator and/or a committee member to answer questions.

Stakeholders are asked to complete the Public Forum Exit Survey by 4 p.m. on Thursday, October 11. The boundary committee will review feedback from the public forum before bringing a recommendation to the school board on November 26, 2018. The board is expected to take action in December.
