Eleven Total Waukee High School Athletes Sign Letters of Intent

Waukee High School’s (WHS) top athletes from the class of 2019 signed letters of intent to continue their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Congratulations to our student-athletes for your hard work and dedication to your academics and sport.

WHS signees included:

Dylan Jones, a 6’8” forward for the Waukee basketball team signed with Upper Iowa University.  A three year starter for the Warriors, Jones averaged 11 points and 9 rebounds a game last year.  He helped lead Waukee to a 3rd place finish at the 2018 state tournament last March.

Anthony Zach signed his letter of intent to wrestle at Northern Illinois University.  A two time state place winner, Zach was the state runner up at 170 pounds last year.  He was 49-3 as a junior and has a career record of 126-25.  Zach helped lead Waukee to state runner up finishes in the State dual and traditional team tournaments last year.

Brooke Boardman signed with the University of Kansas to play golf.  The three time elite all stater and 2018 individual state medalist, led Waukee to the Class 4A 2018 Girls State Golf title last spring.

Anna Brown signed her letter of intent to play basketball for the University of Loyola – Chicago.  The two time all state selection led Waukee in scoring and set the school record for 3 point baskets in a game and season last winter.

Haley Bush will continue her volleyball career playing for the Drake Bulldogs.  The high flying outside hitter helped lead Waukee to their first state tournament appearance since 2011 this fall.

Molly Jacobson signed her letter of intent to play softball for national junior college powerhouse Des Moines Area Community College.  Jacobson went 18-7 with a 2.15 ERA and earned first team all conference honors last summer.

Kat Moody became Waukee’s fifth female athlete to sign with the University of Iowa track and field program in the last three years.  The 2017 Drake Relays shot put champion and 2018 state champion is the Waukee school record holder in the shot put and discus.

Griffin Parker will continue his golf career at the University of Northern Iowa next fall.  Parker’s runner up individual medalist finish helped lead the Waukee Boys to the Class 4A 2018 State Team Championship last month.

Paityn Rau signed with Northwest Missouri State University to basketball.  Rau led Waukee in rebounding (8.1 per game) and averaged over 11 points per game last season.  Rau and Brown were both key contributors in Waukee’s run to the state tournament last March.

Multi sport standout Delaney Taylor will continue her athletic career playing softball at Drake University.  The two time all state selection hit .433 last summer.  She is also an 8-time state medalist in track helping lead Waukee to three straight state titles.

Allie Williams will play soccer for Minnesota State University.   Williams helped lead Waukee to the state semifinals for the 4th time in the last five years last June.  She is a two time all state selection.
