Shuler Fifth Grader Wins Fall Stock Market Game

Carson Attaway, a fifth-grader at Shuler Elementary, made the largest profit in the fall session of The Stock Market Game, earning him first place in the midwest region elementary competition.

SIFMA Foundation’s acclaimed The Stock Market Game program is an online simulation that engages students in grades 4-12 in the world of economics, investing and personal finance, and prepares them for financially independent futures. Eleven Shuler fifth-graders participated in the program as part of their Extended Learning Program (ELP) group time. The game uses current stock market data and provides students with $100,000 to invest and try to make a profit over eight weeks. More than 600,000 students take part every school year across all 50 states.
