Waukee Swimmers are State Runner Up

The Waukee Boys Swim team capped off another outstanding season with a team runner up finish at the State Swim in Iowa City on Saturday. Led by Cameron Linder’s state championship in the 200 Individual Medley, top four individual performances from Andrew Reiter and Mitchell Pollitt and three strong relay finishes, Waukee scored 210 points.  Ankeny won the state championship with 226 points.

The boys scored in 9 out of 11 events and recorded top-four finishes in seven of those events. Four school records were broken and each of those four events posted times that were either named All American or consideration of All American status. It was the program’s first runner up finish after winning back to back titles in 2016 and 2017 and a fifth-place finish last year.
