Reverse Job Fair at Waukee High School

It’s one of the biggest days of the year for Amy Llewellyn’s 12+ Program at Waukee High School. The Reverse Job Fair gives students a chance to show off their skills to future employers.

“All of these students have been out at our community job sites this year,” says Llewellyn. “Being able to show off everything they’ve done, everything they’ve learned is really cool.”

It doesn’t come without some hard work. First it’s the job interview dress code, then it’s the resume and finally the board of information.

The team from LifeServe Blood Center has had a lot of luck with students from Waukee High School, so they were excited to be in attendance today.

“Each one has been excellent,” says Kyle Charles, Volunteer and Special Events Coordinator at LifeServe Blood Center. “Everyone is so passionate about their work that they want to do a great job and we are never dissatisfied.

When the work is that good, it’s a spring board of what could come next. But first students need to celebrate everything that’s been accomplished this year.

“It’s fun to see them and celebrate them,” adds Llewellyn. “It’s kind of bittersweet for some of them, this is the last couple of weeks with us, sending them off to those next steps is a really exciting thing.”
