Waukee & NW Attend All-State Speech Festival

Waukee and Northwest Speech Teams attended the All-State Speech Festival this past weekend at Iowa State University. Many groups made All-State this year from both schools (seven from Waukee and four from NWHS), and both teams supported each other on Saturday.

  • One-Act Play – The Survivor
  • Readers Theatre – The Crucible
  • Ensemble Acting – The Complete Works of Wm Shakespeare
  • Group Mime – Glitch Switch
  • Solo Mime – Fairest
  • Solo Mime – Boudica, Warrior Queen

Northwest All-State Nominations:

Non-Performing:

  • Readers Theatre – Social Media Symphony
  • Ensemble Acting – No More Mr. Nice Guy

Performing:

  • Group Improvisation – Lambert/Patterson
  • Musical Theatre – How to Be a Pirate

Overall, both teams had a very successful Large Group Speech Season and kick off the Individual Speech Season on February 25.
