Dr. Buck’s Bulletin: Back-to-School
Dear Waukee CSD Families,
I hope you’re all having a safe and enjoyable summer! It’s hard to believe the 2024-25 school year is just around the corner. As we get ready to welcome students on Aug. 23, I want to share some back-to-school essentials. In this newsletter, you’ll find reminders, important information, and recent news.
Look for an upcoming email about important legislative updates for this year. Your student’s principal will also be reaching out with school-specific details, ensuring you’re fully informed for the first day. As a reminder, the PowerSchool parent portal will open on Aug. 16, when you’ll have a chance to see teacher assignments and class schedules, pay your fees, and more.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!
Sincerely,
Dr. Brad Buck
Superintendent

Safety & Security
See Something, Say Something
To help ensure the safety and security of our students and staff, we encourage you to speak up when a situation feels wrong. Securly Tipline is a 24-hour tipline that provides anonymous communication for students, families, staff, and community members.
There are three ways to submit a tip:
- 1-833-300-STOP
- tipline@securly.com

After a tip is submitted, a thorough risk assessment is performed. When an alert is determined to be urgent, it follows an escalation process to notify the school. Learn more about Waukee CSD safety and security.
