Introducing the 2024-25 National Merit Semifinalists

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation has named 16 Waukee Community School District high school students as semifinalists in its annual competition. Those selected represent less than 1% of the nation’s graduating seniors.

These academically talented high school seniors now have the opportunity to continue in the contest to become a finalist and even a scholarship recipient. To advance to finalist status, seniors must fulfill additional requirements during the school year, including maintaining superior academic performance and scoring high on the SAT or ACT. The corporation is expected to share a list of finalists in February.

Please help us congratulate our students for their achievements.
