Get to know Principal Jones

My name is Graham Jones, and I have the honor of serving as building principal at Maple Grove Elementary.

We encourage our students and staff to be lifelong learners, and I have been fortunate to have many opportunities to pursue many educational opportunities. I earned my teaching degree at the University of Northern Iowa with a BA in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career in West Des Moines prior to earning my Master’s Degree at Iowa State University with an emphasis in Educational Leadership in 2009. I then served as an assistant principal and building principal for fourteen years in the West Des Moines Community School District. In 2017, I completed my studies with a doctorate degree at Drake University. In 2022, I joined the Maple Grove team and have enjoyed collaborating with an amazing group of staff, students, and families!

When I’m not spending time with my Maple Grove family, I am busy being a husband and father. My wife, Jenni, and I have four children who keep us busy with activities and life!
