Get to know Principal Johnson
Welcome to Waukee Elementary! I feel very fortunate to work with such amazing teachers, students, and parents!
After graduating from the University of Northern Iowa, I began my education career right here in the Waukee Community School District in 2002. I taught for a total of four years, first at Waukee Elementary and then at Walnut Hills Elementary. I received my MSE in Education Leadership from Drake University in 2006. I then served as the assistant principal at both Waukee Elementary and Walnut Hills Elementary for two years before becoming the principal at Waukee Elementary in 2008. I completed my EdS in Educational Administration at Drake University in 2014 and continue to enjoy my role at Waukee Elementary!
Living and working in the District gives me a great sense of pride. My husband also works for Waukee CSD, and we are very thankful to be part of this great community. All of our four children have also been a part of the Waukee Community School District.
